Well I thought I might explain, in short detail, why I post what I do. I tend to be that “guy” that everyone comes to for information about what’s new in the world. I tend to be on top of or right behind the people blazing the trails. I wish I was the trail blazer on many of these topics I post about because my wallet would be much heavier. 🙂 Often I find what might be a golden nugget of information for myself or a peer and want to have a place to show it off or store it for later.
I am sure there are many that will read my blogs and start to critique me about writing my own content or some grammatical or punctuation error I wrote but that’s ok. I am not claiming to be the best of anything just decent to good at many things and hope to help others along the way and I am improving. I have a mix of tastes and ideas on so many things in life that I could go on and on about all of them but I won’t because, well, that would just be boring.
So when you see that I have pasted in my blog an article it’s for a reason. It just may not be apparent to you as to why I would do so. I always make sure to link to where I find the information and not claim what I did not create. I am working hard to sharpen my skills because I have not had to do much writing in many years. Some basic emails to clients and peers but not much else because either my admin and / or legal departments would write most of what was needed. I had to sign and send but not much other than that. In other words I was spoiled as a Senior Account Manager / Manager.
Most of my communication was / is done in person and that is where I shine. I am working at bringing those skills into this environment so please bare with me as I try to knock the rust off my brain and get going in another medium. 🙂 I have been doing quite a bit of study and research to sharpen my skills and looking into what classes I should take in school to bone up on things.
I admit, I never went to college, so I am sure that is obvious to many but I have done very well regardless of that. I have more training than many people have hours in school and, without reading my writing; you might not guess I had never been to college.
When I got out of high school I went right to work. It was a family thing on my grand fathers / mothers side of the family I guess. My grand father was pretty much my father figure and worked since he was a kid. Because my grand father left school as a young boy during the depression to work he never learned to read or write. My father though is well educated and holds several technology patents. When I finally thought to get into college I found that I was married, working 60 hours a week in corporate America, and had a baby to take care of.
Now, over 13 years later, I find myself single, self-employed and wanting information taught to me that will actually improve a passion I found. So through out the day and night I read, watch youtube videos, and talk with peers in effort to feed my mind and move forward with my passion that I stumbled into 5 years ago.
So there you have it. A peek into my obsessive and crazy mind…
See you soon! 🙂
