In some European countries like Denmark and Sweden, which have mobile network penetration rates exceeding 100 percent, texting is now the most common method of communication. The use of SMS continues to rise in the US — not only among teens, but also among young adults from ages 18 to 27. And despite the growing use of social networking and Internet-capable phones, most young people still prefer SMS as their primary means of communication.
